For the first time ever, raiders can now get aggregated stats on raids to find out how they’re doing. Let’s start with Gruul! The data is relatively new, so it will even out as more data comes in, but here’s the first look at how people performed.
Wipe Rate by iLevel
Think you’re wiping a lot and your team is bad? That might not be the case – there are high wipe rates across the board. Click to make it bigger, so you don’t strain your human optical input devices. The wipe rate is the % of attempts that ended in a wipe. So if there were 1000 attempts at level 659 and 200 were kills, that would leave 800 wipes, or an 80% wipe rate.
The wipe rate for Oregorger is quite a bit higher at each iLevel.
About our Infographics.
How many Shatters hit your friends?
Our infographics will tell you how many shatters hit your friends. And then, we tell you how that compares to teams successfully killing the boss. Here’s some data (these numbers will change on the live site as more data comes in).
- Median (the value smack in the middle) is 62% extra shatter hits. What does that mean exactly? If you had 100% extra shatter hits, that would mean every person in your raid hit 1 extra person (imagine everyone standing in pairs, they’d each hit one another).
- To be better than 75% of teams, you need 28% extra shatter hits, or less.
- To be better than 95%, you need to do it perfectly!

How was your Overwhelming Blows control?
It took us a while to get the hang of this! For all 22 of our attempts Tuesday night, we averaged 18.5% of our Overwhelming Blows hitting non-tanks. That was a lot of damage to heal through. But we got much better by the end, with only 1 of them hitting a non-tank.
Did you avoid lots of damage?
Our team failed pretty hard at the avoidable damage mechanics, but I guess that’s what learning a fight is for. Out of our 22 attempts, we averaged a score of 0.5 (yes, less than 1 out of 10), with 14% of our total damage taken being avoidable. But by the time we killed Gruul, we scored an 8.9, with only 2% of our damage taken being avoidable. The only real problem on the successful kill was Overhead Smash.
Inferno Slice
Right now, it’s counting slices on tanks, which it shouldn’t be. We will fix that and get you some fun stats tomorrow 🙂
